Short Biography.
David Miles was born in London. His childhood was spent in various parts of the U.K. When he left school he took a variety of jobs before deciding to study painting at St.Martins Art School London 1959-1963.
He worked as a scenic artist for the National Theatre and as a freelance artist/designer for various theatres.
In 1967 he set up his studio on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides having bought a cottage in Scarista the previous year. Has since had regular periods of painting in other European countries and London, but mainly worked in and influenced by his preferred environment of the Hebrides.
Exhibited widely in Europe.
David Miles died on 30 December 2019.
